The Challenge: Transporting Permai in Comfort
Perth Zoo needed a reliable way to keep Permai, a 3.5-tonne elephant, cool and comfortable during her 2,700km journey to Monarto Safari Park in South Australia. Transporting a large animal like an elephant requires careful planning, particularly when it comes to temperature control. Given the Australian heat and the enclosed nature of the transport crate, overheating was a significant concern.
Our Solution: RV Air Conditioning for a Jumbo-Sized Passenger
After collaborating with the Perth Zoo team, we devised a practical and effective solution: installing two rooftop RV air conditioning units on the transport crate. These units are designed to withstand outdoor conditions, operate efficiently in high temperatures, and provide consistent cooling.
Our team worked closely with Perth Zoo to ensure the air conditioning units were installed securely, allowing for proper airflow within the crate while maintaining a stable temperature for Permai. This setup helped create a cool and comfortable environment for the long journey ahead.
A Successful Journey
With the air conditioning system in place, Permai embarked on her cross-country trip with confidence. The cooling system performed as expected, ensuring she remained comfortable throughout the transport. On arrival at Monarto Safari Park, she stepped out of her crate into her new home, calm and well-rested.
